The ATR is committed to the health and safety of every athlete. We provide educational opportunities for coaches to recognize common injuries, deliver first aid, and manage emergency situations.
If you are a new coach who needs to fulfill taping requirements to gain certification, or you need to re-certify your coaching authorization, a certified athletic trainer will help you refine your taping skills.
Call (515) 964-5000 to schedule →In an emergency, trained first responders on scene save lives. Since there is not always an athletic trainer at practices, coaches should be prepared to handle the moment. Instructors can come to your location, or your group can come to ours. Monthly individual certification classes are available.
Call to set up a training →A concussion is a brain injury caused by rapid movement of the brain against the internal wall of the skull. It can come from a direct blow to the head, or a hit to the body that causes rapid head and neck movement.
Each concussion is unique and needs individualized treatment. If you suspect your son or daughter has a concussion, have them evaluated by a provider who specializes in concussion management. Call us at (515) 964-5000 for evaluation and an individualized return-to-participation plan.
Concussion Home Care Guide →The best way to keep an athlete on the field is to prevent the injury. A Functional Movement Screen identifies compensations during movement, then we design a corrective program to relax tight muscles, strengthen weak ones, and improve efficiency.
Schedule a 30-minute consult →If your son or daughter has experienced an injury, call (515) 964-5000 to schedule an orthopedic injury evaluation. We will evaluate the injury, build a plan, and walk you through every step until they are cleared to return.
